Relationship between Packaging and Sales
Packaging is all about how the product is presented to the consumer. The reason why the product will be selected by the customer instead of its substitute will greatly depend on how it has been packaged. If the package that holds the product becomes appealing enough, the customer might end up purchasing it even though it was not it their budget. Exhaustive research done reveals that most customers do impulse buying because of how the product is packaged. Thus, one of the ways you can make your sales shoot up is by designing a new improved package.
The most important thing about packaging is the message it sends to the consumers. In addition, you have to have inscriptions that are legible and clear to the human eye. If you are not into writing as much, you can as well use easily interpreted symbols and logos. A clear message will have consumers trusting the brand than other products that do not have clear package descriptions. The message should state clearly its brand, who it was made for and how to use it.
The color of the package is another detail that must be considered. The color of the package speaks volumes about the product. Different appeals are signified by the different colors. Each color will portray a different message to the buyers. Things like the ingredients, the logo design, the contacts and addresses, and instructions will all have a set of colors used. For instance, children’s commodities have different colors from food and other cleaning products.
The shape of the package is a vital detail that you cannot afford to mess with. Different shapes tend to show what is inside the package. The package might host a toy plane, round ball, curvy bottle, toothbrush, etc. Also other package shapes might seem to be gender sensitive. This way, females or males, depending on the targeted gender, will be more appealed to buy. A product packaged with grips for handling will have more appeal than the other with none.
After you have completed all the above, be careful not to exceed the limits. A complicated package will chase your consumers away and also be costly for you. So, just keep it simple. It is easier to remember a simple designed package than a single one which is complicated.
Lastly, take heed that your package should not harm the environment in any way. Recyclable packages are becoming common each day. You can also package your products in a package that can be used long after you have used the product. The product should be well protected by the package. Make your package secure.
